“Once I was able to have the implants., I felt…more part of my group and community as a woman. I’m proud that I’m here and that I’m with my daughter.”

Jennifer M.

Jennifer’s cancer took her by surprise—she was young and had no family history of breast cancer. After advocating for testing to confirm a diagnosis, Jennifer’s experience was both physically and emotionally taxing. She received multiple rounds of chemo while pregnant, followed by radiation and a double mastectomy after the birth of her baby girl. Jennifer chose implant-based reconstructive surgery, and is teaching her daughter that “scars make you who you are.”
