Dr. Rachel Akintayo is a board-certified surgeon with expertise in plastic and reconstructive surgery. She shares the Friedman Center’s commitment to compassionate care and patient education. Dr. Akintayo focuses on breast reconstruction, microsurgery and complex soft tissue reconstruction, and aesthetic procedures for the breast.

 

Dedicated to empowering patients, Dr. Akintayo aims to give women support during their breast cancer journey. She believes knowledge is a foundation for collaborating with her patients to make the best possible decisions for their individual situations. Dr. Akintayo performs a range of surgical procedures, including aesthetic procedures to help women feel confident before, during, and after surgery.

Dr. Akintayo’s education and training includes time spent at hospitals affiliated with Dartmouth, Cornell, Georgetown, and Harvard. The Plastic Surgery Research Council, 

New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons, and American Society of Plastic Surgeons have awarded Dr. Akintyo’s research and scholarship.

Dr. Akintayo holds membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. She is co-author and co-presenter on various topics related to breast surgery, including aesthetic considerations, and reconstruction procedures.
